Subheim - Approach (2008)

Subheim is the personal music project of composer and visual artist Kostas K., a cinematic, experimental venture fusing electronic elements with rich ambiance and female vocals by Katja. Rich arrangements followed by deep female and male vocals, cello, violin, various percussion and other instruments  as well as a swell of electronic and classical ambiences mark Subheim as one of the most promising projects of modern experimental cinematic, electronic music. Balancing between emotional outbreaks, fragile moments of utter melancholy and aggressive, epic symphonic arrangements, while masterfully utilising a combination of liquid drum patterns, world and ethnic soundscapes, Subheim's music is a constantly evolving journey, in which new and fascinating pathways are being explored.

Vinterriket/Rikket (Split 2003)

Had known Vinterriket for some years now i must admit that their song "Einsamkeit" until today
is maybe my favortite dark ambient song.But since dark ambient isnt so popular i decided to also introduce
another interesting band Rikket.


Vinterriket is Swedish and Norwegian for "The Winter Realm".
Christoph was the owner of the label Neodawn Productions, which was shut down on March 1st, 2003.
Most of Vinterriket's releases are strictly limited edition and many have had numerous re-issues on various formats, the full details of which can be found on Vinterriket's homepage.
Taken from the official website: "In 1997 and 1998 two rehearsal-tapes have been recorded but they've never been released at all. From 1998 to late 1999 the tracks for the first Demotape have been created."


Rikket was formed in 1999 by vocalist/bassist/keyboardist/drummer of Mordenheim (earlier Nord) named Orkbluten Oldensorg. From the beginning this project was thought as a one-man-band presented to nature and loneliness and the music style was a mix of Ambient and Black Metal with the most rule of the first element. Burzum, Vinterriket, Ulver, Tenhi, Empyrium, Silencer and early Mortiis influenced Rikket very much. Tracks that were on «Kvist Nord Bog Ild» may be characterized like Atmospheric Trance Ambient Music, where atmospheric keyboard’s melodies and arrangements with the using of drums and percussion rule.

Odessa - Odessa LP

Odessa is one of the many hidden secrets of french coldwave.Formed at Poitiers they made a name
for themselves in their local scene.In 1982 they recorded the selftitled 7",which included 3 tracks.
This one is the reissue that was released at 2007 and contains the 7" plus demo songs and versions
and a live track.Listen to it and you wont be dissapointed!

Grauzone - Die Sunrise Tapes

At the end of 1979 Marco Repetto (drums) and GT (bass) left the Punk band Glueams, to form together with Martin Eicher (guitar, vovals, synthesizer) a new band called Grauzone. Martin had already supported Glueams on their single mental. They gave their first concert in March 1980 at the club Spex in Berne. Martin's brother Stephan Eicher (guitar, synthesizer) and Claudine Chirac (saxophone) supplemented the group temporarily in live appearances and recordings.

After ten concerts, four singles and an album the group split up at the end of 1982. GT and Marco Repetto formed together with the former Glueams guitarist Martin Pavlinec and the drummer Dominique Uldry, the band „Missing Link“, later „Eigernordwand“. GT supplemented the futurism oriented performance group „Red Catholic Orthodox Jewish Chorus “ around performance artist Edy Marconi, in which occasionally Marco Repetto also played. Later the group changed their name to „I Suonatori“. Stephan Eicher started a successful solo career. 1988 published Martin Eicher his solo-EP „Spellbound Lovers“. Marco Repetto started in 1989 a new career as Techno and Ambient DJ, musician and producer (a.o. mittageisen v2). The band is most famous for their 1981 hit "Eisbar" ("Polar Bear"), which was later covered by the French band Nouvelle Vague. The single went to #12 in Germany and #6 in Austria.

Das Kabinette - The Cabinet 7" (1983)

If you’re not familiar, Das Kabinette's "The Cabinet" serves to give voice to the classic silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, which is the story of a mad doctor, a misunderstood monster and a lovely maiden. With lyrics that loosely mirror the original screenplay and music that keeps to the dark, hypnotic mood presented by the film’s groundbreaking expressionism, this song, as playlists will reveal, has become a classic in itself.


The A-side is without a doubt one of the better minimal wave/synthpop tracks to come out of the vast wasteland known as The Eighties. For one, it’s surprisingly lush for this particular genre and time period - with multiple layers of synth, 177 words of narrative lyric, and some dramatic guitar picking towards the end, the band's approach to song writing seems far superior when compared to the simplistic monotone format favored by the majority of their peers. Secondly, a good amount of minimal wave recordings suffer from piss poor production, which is certainly not the case here as all the elements have been properly leveled, resulting in an exceptionally crisp sound and a pleasingly slick presentation. To top it off, this is Das Kabinette's sole recording, instantly qualifying it as a hard to come by collectable and a prized possession for anyone lucky enough to own a copy.

XΩΡΙΣ ΠΕΡΙΔΕΡΑΙΟ-ΧΟΡΟΣ ΓΙΑ ΜΟΥΣΙΚΗ (1985)

Formed in athens in late 1983. They were a minimal- synth-pop-electro-punk (yes i know many surnames to duscribe their music. Members were nick aggelis (keybords and vocals), kostas kollias (keybords), and Pantelis Petronikolas (guitar). In 1983 released the 7" from "Art Nouveau" and in 1985 released the lp "dance for music". In this record participated John Drenogiannis (ex member of Cpt Nefos), George Drakopoulos (keybords) and Stefanos Laretzakis (drums). After the release of the record the band split. Some members continued in other bands like "Anti Troppau Council" , "Libido Blume", "Yeah" (another good band. Some people described them as the greek Wipers) and moist device
